The Ford Motor Company is an American multinational automaker headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan. It was founded by Henry Ford and incorporated in 1903.

MODEL T (1908 – 1927)

The Ford Model T was an automobile that was produced by Ford Motor Company. It is generally regarded as the first affordable automobile, the car that opened travel to the common middle-class America. The car set a new standard in efficient manufacturing and pioneered the assembly line production. The first production Model T was produced on August 12, 1908.

Positioned as reliable, easily maintained mass market transportation, the car was a runaway success. In a matter of days after the release, 15,000 orders were placed. In 1999, the Model T was named the most influential car of the 20th century in the Car of the Century competition.

The Model T was a rear-wheel drive vehicle with a front-mounted 177-cubic-inch (2.9 L) inline four-cylinder engine, producing 20 hp.

MODEL A (1927 – 1931)

The Ford Model A was the second huge success for the Ford Motor Company after its predecessor the Model T. First sold in December 1927 it was available in four standard colors. The Model A was the first Ford to use the standard set of driver controls with clutch and brake pedals, a throttle and gearshift.

Model A production ended in March 1932 after 4,858,644 had been made in all body styles.
