Merit Cars presents this 1973 Mercedes-Benz 450SL, an early R107 featuring the highly desirable European-style small bumpers. Finished in striking Lime Green with a brown interior and matching brown convertible top, this SL underwent an extensive restoration in 2017 that appears to have been completed with an open checkbook. The body was taken down to bare metal, properly prepared, and refinished to a high standard. The paint presents nicely with good shine and depth. The interior was redone, a new convertible top installed, and a high-end modern audio system with handsfree capability added. The car sits on expensive BBS wheels, giving it an excellent period-correct yet upgraded appearance. Mechanically, the car was thoroughly gone through and updated. The engine runs smooth, the automatic transmission shifts easily, and the car handles tight and composed. The underside is very clean and solid. The convertible top is like new. The car comes with a spare wheel and many restoration and maintenance invoices. A non-matching white hardtop can be provided at additional cost.
