1967 Triumph Spitfire Mk2 that has an unusually interesting ownership history and has been extensively restored and upgraded. The car is finished in Blue with white racing stripes and has the desirable overdrive transmission. It comes equipped with two tops, a tonneau cover and alloy wheels. The current owner first purchased the car in 1968 and drove it approximately 50,000 miles. After selling the car, he eventually had the opportunity to buy it back in 2002. He then undertook an extensive restoration, taking the car down to the chassis and rebuilding it with no expense spared. The car was repainted, the interior was redone and the mechanicals were extensively rebuilt and upgraded. The engine was rebuilt in 2015 with a mild cam, new steel valves and an upgraded Weber carburetor. Other work includes a new camshaft, new timing gear, heavy-duty axle, 3.89 rear end and new muffler. Numerous additional improvements have been made over the years. A thick binder containing invoices and documentation for the work performed comes with the car. The car currently presents well and drives very nicely. The performance-oriented mechanical upgrades give this early Spitfire a particularly lively character. The underside is solid. Both tops are in good condition. The car also comes with a spare wheel, jack, original carburetors, original steering wheel and numerous extra parts.
