Merit Cars presents this 1961 MG MGA, a very nicely presented example that is ready to be driven and enjoyed. Finished in the classic Old English White with a black interior, this MGA has the desirable wire wheels and an upgraded 1800 3-main-bearing engine. The car presents well overall. The paint is in good condition and the chrome is decent. The interior has been redone and is clean and attractive, with firm seats and clean carpets. Mechanically, the MGA is in good running and driving condition. The engine starts easily and runs strong, the transmission shifts smoothly and the brakes are firm. There are records documenting work performed over approximately the past 10 years, including a new clutch, rear brakes, exhaust system, radiator, grille and additional work. The trunk is clean and the underside is particularly nice. The frame appears solid and the original-style wooden floors are in good condition. There are some cosmetic items worth noting. There is paint bubbling on the passenger-side rocker panel and rear quarter panel, along with some surface rust on the lower edge of the trunk. These areas are visible in the photo gallery. The black convertible top is in very good condition and the side curtains/windows are usable. The car also comes with a spare wheel, floor mats and a tonneau cover. Overall, this is a very nice-driving MGA with a classic color combination, desirable wire wheels, an upgraded 1800 engine and a solid underside. A great car to get into and enjoy.
