Merit Cars Presents: 1959 MGA 1600 that is very presentable as it is. The car is finished in Racing Red with a black interior and is equipped with the desirable chrome wire wheels. It has been with its previous owner since 1978 and has clearly been well maintained throughout its life. The body was repainted approximately two years ago in good quality paint that still presents very well with a deep shine and good luster. Chrome and glass are all in nice condition. The interior is clean and inviting with attractive seats featuring red piping, newer carpets and a body-colored dashboard that complements the exterior beautifully. Mechanically, this MGA is one of the highlights. Being a late 1959 model, it benefits from the upgraded 1600 engine and front disc brakes. It has also been fitted with several desirable performance upgrades including a hot cam, oil cooler and the coveted close-ratio gearbox normally associated with the MGA Twin Cam. Together they give the car a noticeably more spirited character while maintaining the reliability of the standard 1600 engine. The engine starts easily, runs smoothly and the transmission shifts beautifully through all gears. The odometer shows just 46,800 miles, which are believed to be original. The trunk is exceptionally clean and the underside presents well with a solid frame. Paint remains attractive with only a few minor chips from normal use, and the front bumper has badge-bar mounting holes. The black convertible top is in very good condition and the side curtains are usable. The car comes complete with a spare wire wheel and several extra parts.
